From today on, parents can obtain medical certificates stating that they need to care for a sick child by telephone and without visiting the practice. Certificates of receipt of child sickness benefit for a maximum of five days are possible, as the umbrella association of statutory health insurance companies announced following an agreement with the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians.
The conditions: The child is known to the doctor and they consider a telephone issue to be justifiable.
Federal Health Minister Karl Lauterbach had asked for such a regulation, which is intended to be a further contribution to preventing infections in waiting rooms. Since December 7th, adults have been able to request sick leave by telephone if they are unable to work. The condition is that you are known to the practice and do not have any severe symptoms. You can get a certificate of incapacity for work for up to five days.
A similar special regulation in the Corona crisis, which was extended several times, expired in the spring.
