Children’s carnival in Vaterstetten: In a foolish tradition – Ebersberg

What do Leo Löwe, Cowboy Schorsch and Papa Smurf have in common? In Vaterstetten, the answer is: All three work as mayors of the larger community outside of carnival. For many years it has been a good foolish tradition for the head of the community to throw himself into the wildest possible costume at children’s carnival – here Georg Reitsberger and Robert Niedergesäß.

Their successor Leonhard Spitzauer, although mayor for almost three years, has not yet had the opportunity to continue this tradition because of Corona. But on this nonsensical Thursday, February 16th, the time has finally come: As in 2020, there will be another children’s carnival in the open house of the AWO (OHA) in Hans-Luft-Weg. From 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., all preschool and elementary school children are invited to join in the celebrations, costumes are expressly encouraged. Clown Pippo and the community team are responsible for the good mood. Admission, donuts and drinks are free for the children. “We are happy that we can finally hold the popular carnival festival again this year. The little ones in our community have had to do without such events for long enough,” says Leo Löwe… er Mayor Spitzauer.
