The devastating chemical accident has already cost two lives. One injured person is still in mortal danger.
After the fatal chemical accident at the copper producer Aurubis in Hamburg, another employee died in the hospital on Thursday evening. Another injured person is still in mortal danger and is in a highly critical condition, a company spokesman said. A third, 49-year-old employee died in the hospital during the day on Thursday.
According to initial police reports, the three men had been working on a nitrogen line on Thursday morning. Nitrogen is believed to have escaped for reasons that are still unclear.
