Deutsche Bahn wants to attract young people to the Deutsche Bahn with a permanent price campaign. Anyone in possession of a Bahncard can travel even cheaper.

Deutsche Bahn tickets are considered expensive among young people. For trips within Germany, they like to use the long-distance bus service because they are considered cheap. After a price campaign last autumn, Deutsche Bahn wants to win this target group over to better capacity utilization of its long-distance trains. The “Super Sparpreis Young” offer is now available for young people under the age of 27.

Train tickets have been available from 12.90 euros since December 12th – instead of the regular 17.90 euros for the normal super saver price. The new youth tariff is to remain permanently on offer and not limited in time as in 2020.

The tickets for the 2nd class are not available long in advance, but only a few days before departure via the regular booking pages and in the latest version of the DB Navigator app: “Since the new tariff can be booked for customers up to and including 26 years of age we are introducing a new type of traveler, “says the train. “Under traveling person” 15-26 years “the tariff can be found and booked alongside all other tariffs, if available.” In contrast to earlier campaigns, a special Deutsche Bahn website no longer has to be accessed.

There is another price advantage for Bahncard holders: Then the price is reduced by 25 percent. Young train passengers can push the price down to 9.65. the Bahncard for everyone up to and including the age of 26 is called “My Bahncard 25” and costs 35.90 euros, the “My Bahncard 50” is available for 66.90 euros per year.

Anyone taking an ICE or IC ride during Super saver price Young would like to combine with the regional offer, can also “use the local trains (RE, RB, IRE, S-Bahn), if specified at the time of booking”, it says in the conditions of the new youth tariff.
