Charly Hübner presents his directorial debut “Sophia, der Tod und ich” – Bavaria

There’s this sketch from the comedy series “Ladykracher”, where Anke Engelke and Charly Hübner play two police officers who have to deliver a death message to a woman. They would also rather notify lottery winners, she complains. Or slightly injured, he says, “Death is always stupid.” They find that incredibly funny and laugh while the woman’s tears flow. With Charly Hübner, laughing and crying often go hand in hand. This also applies to his debut as a feature film director: the actor has Thees Uhlmann’s novel “Sophia, Death and I” filmed for the cinema.
