Robin Gosens fulfills a dream and switches to the Bundesliga! Union Berlin and Inter Milan have apparently reached an agreement on the transfer, the obligatory medical check and the signing of the contract are scheduled for Tuesday.
Union Berlin is facing the next transfer coup. Fabrizio Romano reports late Monday afternoon that the Irons have reached an agreement with Inter Milan on the transfer of Robin Gosens. The left-back will travel to Berlin tomorrow, Tuesday, to complete his medical and sign a long-term contract.
According to consistent media reports, the transfer fee for the 29-year-old is 13 million euros. With performance-related bonus payments, the total could increase to 15 million euros. Gosens and Union Berlin already agreed on the change over the weekend.
With that, the Irons prevailed against VfL Wolfsburg, who were also very interested in Gosens, in the courtship for the German international. For the 29-year-old, Union Berlin is the first Bundesliga stop in his career; Gosens had left Germany at a young age and embarked on a rather unusual career path with stints in Holland, at Atalanta Bergamo and finally at Inter Milan.
Gosens has played for the Nerazzurri since January 2022. However, the national player had a difficult status at the top Italian club, mostly alternating between the bench and the starting XI. At Union Berlin, Gosens should be set right away.
