Chancellery: Olaf Scholz wants to expand for 777 million euros

place there! – Despite growing resentment: Chancellor Olaf Scholz is sticking to the plans to expand the Chancellery. By 2028, new offices in particular are to be built for 777 million euros. Left faction leader Bartsch to the star: “Doesn’t fit in with the times.”

When Olaf Scholz was in quarantine with Corona, the attentive television viewer was able to take a look at the Chancellor’s official apartment. Scholz was not present at the press conference with Christian Lindner and Robert Habeck for the double boom, but switched on from his apartment in the Chancellery. You looked into a corner of the dining room, saw a table with modern white chairs and two abstract pictures on the wall. From this apartment, which is around 30 square meters in area, a staircase leads directly to the chancellor’s office on the floor below. So Scholz was able to sit at his usual desk in isolation. Pretty much practically everything – but insufficient from the government’s point of view. And way too small.
