The jump into the Champions League group phase has been made. The footballers at Eintracht Frankfurt are enthusiastic about the development.

After the Champions League qualification of the footballers from Eintracht Frankfurt coach Niko Arnautis strung together the superlatives.

“It’s crazy. When I think about when we started with this young team and how long this journey has been, which now culminates with qualification for the group stage of the Champions League. That’s outstanding and I’m incredibly proud “said Arnautis after the 3-0 win at AC Sparta Prague. After the 5-0 win in the first leg, progress was basically just a formality.

“The journey should continue”

Eintracht completed their mandatory task confidently and are back in the top 16 for the first time since 2016, when they were still 1. FFC Frankfurt. The club thus secured an entry fee of 400,000 euros. “We are extremely happy with the squad with which we will play three competitions until at least January. The journey should continue,” confirmed Arnautis. This Friday there will be a draw to see who Eintracht will face in the group games (from November 14th/15th).

There was also enthusiasm among the players around triple goalscorer Barbara Dunst. “To be in the group stage is just crazy, we worked so hard for it. I’m happy for the whole team,” said Dunst. Despite the tasks ahead, “one or two glasses” are definitely in the cards, emphasized the match winner. The elimination of VfL Wolfsburg on Wednesday evening showed that getting into the group games is not a given. This means that two German clubs, champions FC Bayern and Frankfurt, are represented in the group phase of the Champions League.
