Change of moderator at Amazon Prime Video: Sebastian Hellmann is now to be replaced by a DAZN face as Champions League presenter.

Is Sebastian Hellmann (56) leaving Amazon Prime Video? As “Sport Bild” claims to have learned, the presenter, who has led the streaming service through the UEFA Champions League since the 2021/2022 season, is now to be replaced. According to the report, Hellmann’s replacement is the previous DAZN presenter Alexander “Alex” Schlüter (38).

Sebastian Hellmann has been with Sky since 1999

Hellmann’s contract with Amazon Prime Video reportedly ends in May. Until then, the 56-year-old will continue to present the current Champions League games on the streaming service. The reason for the separation is said to be the lack of exclusivity, as Hellmann is mainly associated with Sky broadcasts. He has been working for the pay channel since 1999. According to “Sport Bild”, Hellmann is still under contract with Sky for the coming season.

Alex Schlüter started at DAZN in 2016

Instead, Amazon Prime Video would like to rely on Alex Schlüter, who has been on the air for DAZN since 2016. Since the native of Lower Saxony has always moderated the Champions League there, there will be no new topics for him. But: At DAZN he recently shared airtime for top games with Laura Wontorra (35). On Amazon Prime Video he should then be allowed to stand alone in front of the camera. Schlüter has also led through the NBA and the Basketball World Cup for ProSieben MAXX.

Neither Hellmann nor Schlüter have yet commented on the alleged moderation change.
