After the bitter 1:5 against Eintracht Frankfurt, the German record champions now have to play in the premier class. The final group game of the season is against Manchester United this evening at 9 p.m.
Can he FC Bayern shake off the 1:5? In Frankfurt the team was literally overwhelmed on Saturday. After just over half an hour, Munich conceded Eintracht’s third goal. Coach Thomas Tuchel (50) explains after the game:
“If you have a week of training, can prepare for a match for a long time and then start a game like that, then you don’t have many arguments on your side. We didn’t play well and made too many mistakes. […] Now we have to ask ourselves how it can be that we start a game like this.”
A weak start to the game and the result is the first Bundesliga defeat of the season. “The passion, the toxicity and the energy it takes to win away games was certainly not there. We have to look after our own noses. The bottom line was that it wasn’t enough to survive against Eintracht. The entire team performance was unsatisfactory today and I count myself among them,” explains Tuchel after the final whistle.
