Made wet even before kick-off….
Chelsea won in Round of 16 first leg of the Champions League 2-0 against OSC Lille. But some English stars were shot down before things really got going. And from their own water cannons!
What happened?
Before the Tuchel team’s game, some of the team’s absent players presented the World Cup they had won. But while the injured Ben Chilwell (25, cruciate ligament rupture), Reece James (22, lack of training) and Callum Hudson-Odoi (21), who is also not in the squad, proudly showed the trophy to the fans, the irrigation system suddenly went on on the fine English lawn – and the players stood in the rain!
Get wet before the game!
In the Premier League, club world champions Chelsea had recently won only two out of six games. The 2-0 win against the French from Lille laid the foundation for reaching the quarter-finals.
