Borussia Dortmund’s entry into the round of 16 of the Champions League is already perfect before the last preliminary round game. Even a draw against Paris will win the group.

Borussia Dortmund is worried about winning the Champions League group before the final Paris Saint-Germain will continue to use Marcel Sabitzer and Marius Wolf on Wednesday (9 p.m./DAZN).

A decision should be made at short notice about the return of the two professional footballers, who were missing in the 3-2 defeat against Leipzig, to the squad. “Marius was able to take part in parts of the warm-up yesterday. With Marcel it will remain individual today. We will make final decisions tomorrow morning,” said coach Edin Terzic.

Captain Can is missing due to suspension

In particular, the loss of full-back Wolf would be problematic because his supposed replacement Thomas Meunier was not registered for the Champions League and is therefore not allowed to play. However, defense chief Mats Hummels, who was suspended in the Bundesliga after his red card against Leipzig, is available. On the other hand, captain Emre Can, who has been suspended from the premier class, has to be replaced.

With a three-point lead over the runners-up from Paris, a draw is enough for BVB, who have already qualified for the round of 16, to maintain their lead in the table. That would increase the chance of facing an easier opponent in the round of 16. When asked whether his team wanted revenge for the 2-0 loss in Paris, Terzic replied: “I think revenge is the wrong word in sport. We are motivated by winning games. We play here in front of over 81,000 spectators is motivation enough.”
