After a lot of corona vortex and a league slip, FC Bayern continues its triumphant advance in Europe. The fifth win in the fifth game brings the group victory prematurely.

After a lot of Corona trouble, FC Bayern celebrated the group victory in the Champions League. The Munich team, who had been severely decimated after infections and quarantine failures, secured themselves prematurely first place in the table on Tuesday evening with 2-1 (2-0) at Dynamo Kiev.

Robert Lewandowski (14th minute) with a fantastic overhead kick and returning Kingsley Coman (42nd) secured with their goals the fifth victory in the fifth group game. Four days after Bayern’s 2-1 defeat in the Bundesliga in Augsburg, this time substitute Denys Harmasch overcame the Munich defense (70th), which almost equalized.

FC Bayern: Neuer secures victory after changing sides

Even before the game in winter conditions in the high-risk area, the Munich team, who had been confirmed as the round of 16, were pleased that the annoying vaccination issue was pushed into the background, at least for a short time. In view of the lack of players in quarantine with Covid-19, the German record champions only had a rump squad with four players on the bench – especially since Dayot Upmacenao was yellow-banned and Marcel Sabitzer was injured. In the end, that didn’t matter, although Manuel Neuer had to intervene twice in the Bayern goal after the break and could not prevent the goal.
