Champions League: 3:1! RB Leipzig – Red Star Belgrade in the live ticker | Sports

Second win for RB?

In group G the Champions League RB Leipzig welcomes Red Star Belgrade from Serbia on matchday 3. It starts at 9 p.m.

RB Leipzig can take a big step towards the round of 16 of the Champions League against Belgrade. If they win, the Saxons would be five points ahead of Serbian champions Red Star Belgrade. If Bern loses in the parallel game against league leaders Manchester City, the Bundesliga club could make progress in Belgrade in just two weeks.

One day before the game there was some good news from Leipzig. RB striker Yussuf Poulsen (29) has extended his contract, which expires next summer, until June 30, 2026.

“Yussuf Poulsen’s story at RB Leipzig is extraordinary. On the one hand, his path from the 3rd league to the Champions League. On the other hand, there was also the long time at one and the same club. Yussi has achieved a unique status in Leipzig through his achievements and personality,” said RB sports director Rouven Schröder in a club statement on Tuesday.
