CFE-CGC and CFDT, majority unions at TotalEnergies, announce that they have signed the wage agreement

Rally at the TotalEnergies refinery in Donges, in support of the strikers

A rally at the call of the CGT and FO brought together some 200 people, mainly employees, union representatives and elected officials, in front of the TotalEnergies refinery in Donges (Loire-Atlantique), Friday morning, to support the staff of this refinery on strike since Tuesday, noted Agence France-Presse (AFP).

“There is no blockage (…). The only ones blocking today is the management of Total (…). The shortage is not the workers on strike who cause it.insisted David Arnould, CGT union representative at the Donges refinery.

“What is the reality of an operator in three shifts? It’s staggered hours, it’s working on weekends, it’s working at night. It’s being continuously exposed to chemicals.”listed at the microphone Mr. Arnould.

Refinery employees, union representatives from several companies in the Saint-Nazaire region (Chantiers de l’Atlantique, Airbus, Cordemais thermal power plant) were present, as well as members of the Ecological and Social Alliance collective.

Elected officials had also made the trip, like the deputy La France insoumise de Loire-Atlantique, Matthias Tavel.

“This strike is a general interest strike. Everyone knows that if Total employees don’t earn anything, then no employee in the country will earn, because if there is one company that can increase salaries, it’s Total”Mr. Tavel told AFP.
