Hendrik Streeck, 46, virologist, unpacks. However, only comparatively small gifts. He and his husband Paul Zubeil wouldn’t give each other anything big for Christmas, he told the German Press Agency. “It shouldn’t cost more than 50 euros. We don’t always stick to that. But it shouldn’t be anything big. We agreed on that years ago because otherwise looking for gifts would ruin the whole pre-Christmas period.” He finds it much more significant: “the festive lighting, the Christmas markets, the music. I think it’s an incredibly beautiful tradition that we have there. And it’s fun to live it.”

Julia Brendler, 48, actress, is under observation. According to Brendler, the ZDF crime series “Nord Nord Mord” has become so popular that fans are watching the filming. “During an outdoor scene recently in Westerland, we counted nearly 200 onlookers around the set watching us shoot,” she said in a PR interview for the production. “It takes some getting used to – because no matter which direction you look, you’re always looking at a cell phone camera that’s pointed at you.” That could be irritating. “For me, however, the joy that so many people like our program outweighs it.”

Ruth Maria Kubitschek, 92, actress, was inspired by her on-screen character. A lot of things would have been easier if I had been like this ‘Spatzl’ because then I would have stayed with my men instead of drawing harsh conclusions.” As Kubitschek went on to say, she herself provided the inspiration for the role. “The character is largely identical to me.” Dietl and the author Patrick Süskind invited her to dinner in Munich and asked her about her life. “The character initially lacked any flesh, it was an empty role. I was drunk and told everything about my life, and so this Annette von Soettingen, as she was called, took shape,” she said.

Oliver Masucci, 55, actor, would like not to be cold at Christmas. “I’m actually heading to Mallorca,” he told the German Press Agency. “I want to swim in the sea. But it will probably be Switzerland because my older daughter always has to party in the snow and there is plenty of it right now.” But this has one advantage: getting the goose could be less complicated. “It’s not that easy to get on Mallorca.”
