Johnny Depp, 59, US actor has split from his own artwork and has made around £3million from it. “I’ve always used art to express my feelings,” Castle Fine Art quotes the actor as saying. “My paintings have surrounded my life, but I kept them to myself and limited myself. No one should ever limit themselves.” Depp sold 780 prints within hours of announcing the sale on Instagram. The “Friends And Heroes” collection features people who inspired him among them Rolling Stone Keith Richards, Al Pacino, Bob Dylan and Hollywood actress Elizabeth Taylor. He used his art to “think about those who matter most to me, my family, friends and people I admire”.

Anna Ermakova, 22, British model, was distracted by her father, Boris Becker, during her art history exams. You could not avoid reporting on the trial against Boris Becker for delaying insolvency. “I didn’t really know how to deal with it to be honest, but I don’t think you can run away from your feelings and emotions,” the model told the magazine Colorful quarterly. Becker was sentenced to two and a half years in prison in April. Ermakowa has not yet been able to visit him due to prison regulations. But she wishes “that he feels safe, stays hopeful and doesn’t give up”. She has also tried her hand at tennis. “My mother wanted me to start. I went to tennis camps over the summer. I’m not particularly good, but I enjoy playing outside with my friends.” Anna Ermakowa’s mother had a brief affair with Boris Becker more than 20 years ago.

Madonna, 63, US singer, wants to keep her songs. Unlike other musicians, she does not want to sell the rights to her songs. When asked why she turned it down, Madonna told the magazine Variety: “Because they are my songs. Ownership is everything, isn’t it?” More and more musicians are selling their song rights: Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Shakira, Tina Turner and many more sold their music rights. US music publisher Warner Chappell Music has reportedly secured the rights to David Bowie’s entire oeuvre for $250 million. However, Madonna is going a different route: together with the music company Warner Music Group, the singer wants to release her previous albums again, as announced last year.

Sebastian Bezel, 51, actor and football fan, has an economic explanation for top football. “I think that capitalism always destroys a lot – in football it will certainly make it so that at some point you don’t feel like it anymore,” he said New Osnabrück newspaper. “I’m not a communist, but the Champions League is a capitalist nightmare despite all the footballing class. Maybe it’s also an opportunity if you say: I’ll go back to my village club, eat a bratwurst there, drink a beer and have a lot more fun in a smaller, less-excited environment.” He will also try to “stay out of it” at the World Cup in Qatar, Bezzel said. However, he has an eleven-year-old son at home who he cannot forbid to watch the World Cup, “which he is looking forward to,” admitted Bezzel. “What I definitely enjoyed more was the German women’s national team at the European Championship.”
