Caucasus: Turning away from Moscow – politics

There has always been a small gap between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Since Armenia lost the battle for Nagorno-Karabakh, the gap has widened than ever. Pashinyan indirectly accuses Moscow of having abandoned Armenia. And Moscow’s propaganda spreads that Pashinyan is now being influenced by the West. It’s an almost knee-jerk accusation that comes up again and again when politicians from former Soviet republics express criticism of the Kremlin.
