Pope Benedict XVI’s private secretary, Georg Gänswein, has had to vacate his post as prefect of the Papal Household. Pope Francis sends him back to Germany.
Pope Benedict XVI’s longtime private secretary, Georg Gänswein, has lost his top post in the Vatican as Prefect of the Papal Household. As the Holy See announced, the Archbishop, who has already been on leave, is returning to his home diocese of Freiburg, initially without an important office, on the instructions of Pope Francis.
