Everyone speaks of more diversity. But when things get concrete, some decision-makers don’t seem to be committed to it and back down.
Heidi Klum wants to pay more attention to diversity in the new season of her show “Germany’s next top model” (GNTM / ProSieben). You have expanded the cast and “opened the door even wider,” said Klum (48) of the magazine “Bunte”.
“There are small, very large, curvy, slim, young and older participants. Our youngest is 18, the oldest 68. ” GNTM spokeswoman Tina Land told the German Press Agency on Wednesday that the cast of the new season was more diverse and surprising than ever. “Heidi Klum has invited, among other things, a candidate who is 68 years beautiful.”
In the “Bunte” interview, Klum also criticized the fact that the new concept was not well received everywhere. “Unfortunately, a lot of well-known designers who had agreed to us previously dropped out. The reason: the dimensions of our models. You always hear how important diversity is, but when it comes down to it, somehow not really, as we have experienced firsthand. “
The 17th GNTM season should be seen on ProSieben from the beginning of 2022.
