When the wish collides with reality: In “Cash for Rares” the seller wanted to sell her jewelry for a large sum. The expertise was a cold shower.

Ingrid Flacken took an heirloom from her godmother with her to ““Cash for Rares”. When she was young, she wanted to wear the jewelry, but wasn’t allowed because it was too valuable. She has since inherited it, but today she no longer wears it. That’s how she wants to show the object on ZDF. Selling the junk show. She brought her sister Nicky with her to support her.

It is a pendant studded with diamonds. But the first impression is deceptive: “It’s not just a trailer,” explains Heide Rezepa-Zabel. You can also use the piece of jewelry as a brooch. “I like transformation pieces,” admits moderator Horst Lichter. With its many diamonds, the brooch points to the beginning of the 20th century, explains the expert. Specifically, she dates the piece to the 1920s. Rezepa-Zabel counts well over 100 stones and weighs 6 carats.

But there is a surprise when it comes to the desired price: “I once thought that the part would cost around 9,000 euros,” says Ingrid Flocken. Lights yelps loudly. With good reason: Heide Rezepa-Zabel values the metal at 300 euros, while she values the diamonds at just 2,400 euros. Since the big name is missing, she doesn’t think more than 2,800 to 3,000 euros is possible. The sisters want to try it anyway and accept the dealer card.

The brooch is met with enthusiasm among dealers. The auction gets off to a promising start, Lisa Nüdling offers 2000 euros straight away. Julian Schmitz-Avila is against it, but he doesn’t get more than his highest bid of 3,000 euros. After all: the upper limit of the estimated value has been reached. The sisters agree to the sale.
