It wasn’t just “Waldi” who was perplexed: at “Bares für Rares” dealer Fabian Kahl had a necklace put on him – and then looked at himself in the mirror. After that he didn’t want to bid any more.

Steffi Müller from Böblingen traveled to the Pulheim rolling mill on behalf of her neighbor. The woman is hard of hearing, so Müller should now try to sell a beautiful jewelry set on her behalf.

Horst Lichter immediately raves about the turquoise stones. Patrick Lessmann begins his expertise with a joke: He holds a stone to Lichter’s ear and says: “Listen!” The moderator can’t find anything. Lessmann solves the puzzle with great laughter: “Clearly speaks the language of the 70s.” Lichter is extremely pleased with the fun. “Nobody has ever done that before. I think it’s great!”

“Cash for Rares”: “Waldi” can no longer get the ring off his finger

As the expert explains, it is a matching set that is made of 585 white gold and includes diamonds and turquoise. What initially appears to be a two-piece set, consisting of a ring and chain, turns out to be three pieces upon closer inspection. The pendant on the chain can be removed and used as a brooch.

Müller sends 4,000 euros as the desired price. However, the expert doesn’t quite agree with that: Lessmann estimates the material value at 1,900 euros and the total price at 2,900 to 3,200 euros. That’s enough for the saleswoman: she wants to try her luck in the dealer’s room.

There, Walter “Waldi” Lehnertz immediately puts the ring on himself, but then has problems getting it off again. It is made more for delicate women’s hands. Meanwhile, Wolfgang Pauritsch starts the auction and immediately offers 2,000 euros. Fabian Kahl and Elke Velten-Tönnies are also interested. When the value is 2,800 euros, Kahl wants to know: He asks Pauritsch to put the chain on him.

“Waldi” is perplexed: “It hasn’t happened before in ‘Bares für Rares’ that the two of them put chains on each other.” The Austrian even hands his colleague the mirror. But Kahl doesn’t seem to be completely satisfied with the sight: he’s dropping out of the race.

But Steffi Müller doesn’t want to sell for the 2,800 euros offered, so Velten-Tönnies adds a hundred more. This means the estimated value has been reached and everyone is satisfied.
