The granddaughter is happy: a chirping bird brings grandma thousands of euros
Grandma Heuskel is speechless: her songbird machine is valued at 4,000 to 5,000 euros at “Bares für Rares”.

The desired price of 3,000 euros seemed a bit high to Horst Lichter. But the musical slot machine that Grandma Heuskel wants to sell at “Bares für Rares” is worth much more.
Sarah and her grandma Mathilde Heuskel brought a music box with them.Cash for Rares”. Mathilde received it as a birthday present from an older lady, but she doesn’t know where it comes from or how old she is.
How good that Sven Deutschmanek is there. As the expert explains, it is a songbird machine combined with a box. Then Deutschmanek demonstrates the device and makes it chirp. The machine was produced by Karl Griesbaum from Triberg in the Black Forest. The case is decorated with cupids and was originally gold-plated. He dates the time of its creation to around 1930.
“Cash for Rares”: The expert is enthusiastic
Deutschmanek is very enthusiastic about the music box. “I think it’s sensational,” he enthuses, “it’s the best we’ve ever had.” Grandma Heuskel would like 3,000 euros for the good piece. Horst Lichter has his doubts: “That’s a lot of money,” objects the moderator. The expert also seems to want to contradict himself: “Something like that is not paid for with 3,000 euros,” he says. But then adds: “In this condition I would say 4,000 to 5,000 euros.” The saleswoman is speechless.
The dealers are immediately interested: “It’s a beautiful example,” says Wolfgang Pauritsch. Walter “Waldi” Lehnertz agrees with the expert’s verdict and greets the saleswoman with the words: “Little angel, this is the most beautiful can we’ve seen so far with the little bird coming out of it.” His starting bid is 580 euros. And so it will soon reach four figures. In the end, Fabian Kahl gets the contract for 3,800 euros.

Afterwards, granddaughter Sarah Heuskel is beaming from ear to ear: “I’m really happy for my grandma,” says the young woman. “If anyone deserves it, it’s her.”
