47-year-old missing for a year: what happened to Nils Hansen?

The Lübeck criminal police are concerned with an unsolved missing person case. The 47-year-old Nils Hansen has been missing for almost a year. The police assume a violent crime. Now the case is being dealt with in the ZDF program “Aktenzeichen XY … unsolved”.
The Hamburg police published the first call for missing persons about Nils Hansen on November 13, 2020. At that time, the 47-year-old from the Bergedorf district had already been missing for three and a half weeks. He is actually considered reliable. But when he missed appointments and stopped contacting his family, they worried. Even then, the press release said: “It cannot be ruled out that Mr. Hansen is in a helpless situation or that he could have been the victim of a crime.”
Just one month later, the Lübeck police and the Lübeck public prosecutor published a joint press release. Investigators now seem certain that the missing person has been the victim of a violent crime. Since then, the Lübeck homicide squad has been investigating. To this day, Nils Hansen has disappeared.
Case on Wednesday at “Aktenzeichen XY … unsolved”
He last left his workshop in Leezen near Bad Segeberg in an Audi SQ5 in the early afternoon of October 20. Around 4:30 p.m. he arrived at a campsite in Güster (Duchy of Lauenburg), where he was seen that evening. Then his track is lost. About a week later – on the night of October 26, 2020 – the car was found burning in a parking lot in Geesthacht on Elbuferstraße. The police are suspected of a homicide. However, a body has not yet been found, not even at the campsite, which the officials thoroughly searched.

Another call for witnesses on the ZDF program “Aktenzeichen XY … Unsolöst” (Wednesday, 8:15 pm) should help to solve the mysterious case. We are looking for people who saw or had contact with Nils Hansen in the late afternoon or evening hours of October 20, 2020. In addition, the investigators hope to get information on the whereabouts of the anthracite-colored Audi SQ5 in the period from October 20 to 26, 2020.
Reward of 5000 euros exposed
The Lübeck public prosecutor has offered a reward of 5,000 euros for information that leads to the investigation or arrest of suspects or to the gathering of evidence.
During the TV broadcast, a police information telephone will be set up on 0451/131 5110. Witnesses can also report to any other police station. An information portal will also be set up on the Internet.
