Caroline Garcia, 17th in the world, seemed petrified by what was at stake on Thursday in the semi-finals of the US Open where she was swept away by the Tunisian Ons Jabeur (6-1, 6-3). The tricolor player, who was playing her first Grand Slam semi-final at the age of 28, never managed to free herself from the pressure or to put in place her aggressive game which had so seduced since the start of the tournament.

For his part, Jabeur (28), fifth in the world, will play his second Grand Slam final in a row after that of Wimbledon last July. It will be against the Polish Iga Swiatek (world number 1) or the Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka (6th).
