The President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, put an end, Monday, November 28, “on the proposal of the Prime Minister”, to the functions of Caroline Cayeux, the delegate minister in charge of local authorities. She will be replaced by her colleague in charge of rurality, Dominique Faure, announced the Elysée.
Mme Cayeux clarified, on Twitterthat she had submitted her resignation following a dispute with the High Authority for the Transparency of Public Life (HATVP), which considers her declaration of assets to be undervalued and, according to her, ” continues to doubt [s]has sincerity”. She claims to have “taking into account his observations” and be “aligned” but, “despite this, the High Authority for Transparency in Public Life continues to question my sincerity”.
The HATVP, contacted by AFP, indicated that it would not communicate immediately, pending the meeting of its college on Tuesday.
The successor of M.me Cayeux, M.me Faure, previously Secretary of State for Rural Affairs, becomes “Minister Delegate to the Minister of the Interior and Overseas Territories and to the Minister for Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion, responsible for local authorities and to the Minister for Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion, responsible for rurality »said the Elysée in a press release.

An ex-LR, support for François Fillon
First a teacher, then head of a professional training organization, this English graduate, holder of a higher diploma in private international law, was born in Paris on 1er November 1948. Politically, M.me Cayeux displayed herself as an unfailing support for François Fillon during the UMP primary in 2012, then in the presidential election of 2017. She did not let go, despite the business.
It was in 2018 that she slammed the door of the Republicans, in disagreement with Laurent Wauquiez. Partisan rupture which had not prevented her from being re-elected in the first round of municipal elections in 2020 in Beauvais, under the various right label but supported by the Republic on the move. She was an active supporter of Emmanuel Macron in the 2022 presidential election.
