Carole Bouquet defends Gérard Depardieu who was her companion for 10 years: “I’m afraid for him”

DEPARDIEU – French actress Carole Bouquet, former companion of Gérard Depardieu, targeted by several complaints for rape and sexual assault and at the heart of a scandal that has become politico-media, said she “fear for him” Thursday evening on television.

“I have a real problem with what is happening with Gérard at the moment… I am afraid for him”declared the actress on the Quotidien show on TMC, defending the man who was her companion for ten years and a beloved actor before falling into opprobrium.

“This media tribunal continues, it’s been going on for months and it’s killing a man. I can not support it. I have no possible tenderness for someone who turns out to be a monster, but that is not the case with Gérard.she continued.

“Let’s stop the delight”

“Gérard is capable of being rude, of sometimes having borderline humor, but he is incapable of hurting a woman”she assured, recalling having lived “ten years of sexuality” with him. “Let’s stop the delight”she urged again.

The President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron, the daughter of actor Julie Depardieu, on television, and before her members of her family, in a forum, spoke publicly to defend Gérard Depardieu, indicted following of one of the two complaints he is the subject of in France and which refutes these accusations.

As a reminder, Gérard Depardieu has been indicted since 2020 for rape, after a complaint from an actress, Charlotte Arnould, accusations which he refutes. In France, he is also the target of two complaints for rape and sexual assault, the last of which was filed by actress Hélène Darras. Very recently, Spanish journalist Ruth Baza accused the actor of having raped her in 1995. She recently filed a complaint in her country against Gérard Depardieu.

In addition to these accusations, the actor caused a real uproar at the beginning of the month after the broadcast of a report from Further investigation on France 2 including a three-minute video extract. In it, Gérard Depardieu, visiting North Korea, made a series of misogynistic, degrading and insulting remarks while addressing women, even targeting a little girl.
