Carl Carlton and Melanie Wiegmann sing Classic Rock: Die Aussteiger – Kultur

There are albums where the story behind them is almost as important as the music. Take “Glory of Love” for example, which guitarist Carl Carlton recorded with actress Melanie Wiegmann. And it goes to show that rebel-era music still has the power to turn a life or two inside out. It had worked for Carlton as a teenager when he saw “Easy Rider” in the cinema and the band played their Bible-heavy number “The Weight” in the soundtrack. He went to Amsterdam and New York, became a professional musician and worked his way up to the first division. Robert Palmer, Mink Deville and Joe Cocker, back home then Udo Lindenberg, Marius Müller-Westernhagen and Wolfgang Niedecken.
