After the rape of two patients on the Lower Main, the Aschaffenburg regional court sentenced a doctor to two years and ten months in prison. A court spokeswoman announced this on Tuesday. The court also imposed a three-year ban on practicing medicine for treating women. The defendant confessed to the allegations during the trial. The verdict is not yet legally binding.
The 52-year-old treated a woman for heart problems in April 2021. During an ultrasound examination, he then inserted his fingers into the patient’s vagina without warning. According to an expert, this was not medically necessary.
Last September, another patient had to have the cardiologist touch her crotch against her will. According to the prosecution, the doctor also touched the woman in her private area and penetrated her with a finger. The defendant secretly filmed a third victim up her skirt during a conversation in the practice.
The public prosecutor’s office had requested a prison sentence of three years and four months for the man for, among other things, rape and sexual abuse using a treatment relationship. The defense pleaded for two years in prison, suspended.
