The phone number in “Don’t Look Up” is actually assigned … to a pink line
If you haven’t seen Don’t Look Up, the disaster comedy of the moment on Netflix, know that we find two astronomers, played by Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence, who are trying to warn the population that a giant comet is about to destroy the Earth. At one point in the film, the actor’s character, Randall Mindy, urges Americans to call a telephone number, 1-800-532-4500, in an attempt to find serenity in the face of the predicted disaster.
Of course, in the real world, several spectators tried to call the number… which is assigned to an erotic line!
According to People, a welcoming message can be heard on “America’s hottest line.” Guys, hot girls want to talk to you. Press 1. Girls, to talk to interesting and exciting guys, press 2 ”.
