2023 was the most expensive year yet for car buyers. This is the result DAT Report 2024. With an average of 44,630 euros, new car prices reached their highest level in the past fifty years. According to the Deutsche Automobil Treuhand (DAT), private customers spent 1,840 euros more on their new car than in 2022. For electric vehicles, the bill cost an average of 50,600 euros, and new cars from German premium brands generally paid around 60,000 euros. Way too much for most people. According to a recent Deloitte study 55 percent of those surveyed want to spend less than half on their next car.
