Car flips back and forth between gas stations – Munich

After an unauthorized turning maneuver on the Georg-Brauchle-Ring, a 37-year-old from Munich came to the hospital with whiplash and a head laceration. The police also reported him for endangering road traffic (because a breath alcohol test showed 0.6 per mil) and negligent bodily harm (because his passenger also suffered whiplash).

The 37-year-old pulled his Mercedes out of a gas station at around 5:30 a.m. on Sunday to turn illegally in the direction of the Olympic Park. A pickup truck hit him from behind. The Mercedes driver briefly lost consciousness as a result of the collision, but kept his foot on the gas. The car accelerated in the direction of the Olympic Park, crashed into the price display at another gas station, lurched across all six lanes in both directions including the middle green strip and back again. On the right-hand side of the road, the Mercedes struck a tree before stopping at a traffic sign. No one was injured apart from the driver and his neighbor. Police estimate the damage to property at $50,000.
