A four-year-old girl died after her family’s car crashed into a tree near Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The family was on their way home from vacation, as a police spokeswoman said on Saturday. For an as yet unexplained cause, the 39-year-old driver left the road in the early hours of the morning on Saturday and drove into the tree.
The parents and the eight and four-year-old girls from near Landsberg am Lech were taken to hospital with serious injuries. The four-year-old died there a little later. Bundesstraße 2 between Kaltenbrunn and Garmisch-Partenkirchen was partially closed for several hours.
