Captain Mattéo Guendouzi forfeits the final phase, very uncertain for the Olympics

Mattéo Guendouzi will not play the end of the Euro Espoirs with the France team, which faces the Netherlands in the quarter-finals on May 31 in Budapest. The Bleuets captain is also expected to miss the Tokyo Olympics (July 23-August 8).

The 22-year-old midfielder seriously injured his right foot on Tuesday night in a Bundesliga match won by his Hertha Berlin team against Friborg (3-0, including a superb goal from Nemanja Radonjic, on loan from OM ).

Replaced by Sami Khedira in the 39th minute, Guendouzi suffers from a fractured metatarsus, Hertha said on Friday, who announced his withdrawal until the end of the season.
