Canon launches compact full-frame RF 2.8/28mm lens

The RF 2.8/28 mm STM is intended for the full format, but due to its compactness (approx. 24 mm long) and low weight (120 grams) it is also an interesting lens for Canon APS-C cameras – the focal length corresponds then approx. 45 mm in comparison to the 35 mm. The fixed focal length is equipped with a lens ring that can be used both for controlling the settings and for manual focusing.

Three double-sided, plastic-molded aspherical lenses are intended to ensure high image quality. The imaging performance is said to be better than that of the very compact SLR lenses for EF 2.8/28 mm IS USM and EF 2.8/40 mm STM.

The RF 2.8/28mm STM comes with a control ring and an AF/MF switch.
