A trio of teenagers aged 14 and 15 followed the octogenarian as she walked home after running some errands, reports nice morning. One of them punched her hard, knocking her to the ground. Another took the opportunity to snatch his wallet in which was about thirty euros. Finally, the third filmed the scene.

The victim was hospitalized. She suffers from multiple facial fractures and contusions, according to Nice Matin, but her life is not in danger.
“Shocking, scandalous, criminal… I do not have the words to define the violence of this attack on an 89-year-old lady,” lambasted Bryan Masson, RN deputy for the Alpes-Maritimes, relaying the video of the attack.

aggression was indeed filmed by surveillance cameras. The three teenagers were found and taken into custody, they admitted the facts. According to information from CNEWS, two of them are already known to the police for acts of theft and voluntary damage.
“It is up to justice to act and believe me that I fervently wish that these evildoers be punished”, reacted David Lisnard, mayor Les Républicains de Cannes, describing the suspects as “sub-humans” on Twitter.

Adolescents placed in educational centers
The three teenagers have been referred to the prosecution for a summons for the purposes of conviction in the juvenile court at the hearing of November 30, 2022.
The respondents were, as part of their judicial review, placed in closed educational centers in Marseille, Saint-Etienne and Bordeaux.
A letter to Gérald Darmanin
In response, David Lisnard wrote to the Minister of the Interior, asking him “to do everything possible to immediately suspend the payment of all social assistance for the benefit of the families” of the suspects.
