La Croisette is still buzzing with the 76th edition of the Cannes Film Festival. It’s been almost a week since film screenings follow one another and the biggest stars parade on the red carpet every evening, offering real lessons in glamor. Waiting to see Lily-Rose Depp and The Weeknd land to present The Idolthe highly anticipated new HBO series, is the cast of Club Zero which in particular caused a sensation this Monday, May 22.
The dramatic feature film in competition for the Festival’s Palme d’Or was directed by Jessica Hausner and tells the story of Miss Novak, a young teacher who introduces her students to a new concept that is supposed to shake up our eating habits. Without arousing the suspicions of teachers and parents, she sets up a mysterious and dangerous “Club Zero”. The film promises to intrigue throughout by never revealing any indication of time or place, an effect heightened by the use of English and an international cast. Because the stars of the film come from all walks of life. There is the Australian Mia Wasikowska, the Danish Sidse Babett Knudsen, the Egyptian Amir El-Masry and the French Elsa Zylberstein.
The latter, precisely, attracted all eyes to the red carpet. At 54, the actress proved that she was still endowed with great beauty and incomparable elegance in a shiny and tight-fitting harlequin-style dress with a very plunging neckline. (See our slideshow). Before climbing the stairs with the rest of the film crew, Elsa Zylberstein had time to answer questions from Louise Ekland for FranceTV. “I really wanted to work with this director (Jessica Hausner, editor’s note)I can’t wait to see the reception that the public will give and it’s always nice to be here, to present a film“, she said at the microphone of the journalist. And to add about Jessica Hausner: “She’s a filmmaker who has drama in comedy, madness, power“.”I’m positive and happy to be here“, concluded the actress with a broad smile.
