It is a major operation against “structured criminal organizations importing cannabis resin from Spain to France” which has just been carried out, welcomes the public prosecutor of Bordeaux, Frédérique Porterie. Five people were arrested in the Paris region, and indicted on Monday by a Bordeaux magistrate, charges of importing narcotics in an organized gang, drug trafficking, association of criminals. They were all remanded in custody.

These arrests follow the seizure, on August 11, of a ton and 47 kg of cannabis resin in the Paris region, which were in a truck from Spain, and which the suspects were preparing to unload. before distributing the goods in smaller capacity vehicles.

A “mercenary” who had “connected with Ile-de-France networks”

The investigation had started in November 2021, when the judicial police of Limoges (Haute-Vienne) decided to put under surveillance an individual “known to their services and reputed to be specialized in the conveyance of narcotics” reports the public prosecutor . This “mercenary” was this time “put in touch with Ile-de-France networks”. Faced with the importance of the case, the prosecution of the Jirs (specialized interregional court) of Bordeaux took up the case.

The investigators managed to quickly demonstrate that the Limougeaud “carried out the transport itself, or helped to convey narcotics from Spain”, by playing the role of so-called “opener” vehicle for the benefit of a heavy weight, at the occasion of convoys intended for the Paris region.

An arrest system was thus set up on August 11 from Spain and as far as the Paris region, with Ofast (Anti-narcotics office of the judicial police) and with the support of the Research and intervention (BRI) of Toulouse and Bordeaux. The Limougeaud and an accomplice in the “opener” vehicle were apprehended during this dragnet.
