This is intended to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels and greenhouse gas emissions. What is new is that for the first time there is even a paraffinic one Bio-diesel in its purest form for refueling was released by the legislature.

With B10, there will also be a diesel from April that can contain more biodiesel than the seven percent of B7.

This is exactly what the three new abbreviations stand for:

• HVO: Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil – also shown as XTL at the gas station.
• XTL: X to Liquid – The “X” stands for a variable component, i.e. different raw materials from which paraffinic diesel can be obtained. With HVO it is the vegetable oil.
• B10: “B” stands for biodiesel and “10” means that up to ten percent of the renewable fuel biodiesel is mixed into conventional diesel.
