The new playground in front of the town hall in Aschheim looks pretty puny: only a pale rocking horse, a seesaw and a blue little house stand alone in a desolate commercial area – no children anywhere. Instead, a 62-year-old with a half-bald head shows camera crews and TV reporters from half of Germany around almost every day: Wenzel Cerveny. He rests his elbows on the barrier fence that surrounds the playground and frowns down at the ensemble again. “This is the fastest playground in Germany to be approved,” he says. “A ridiculous attempt!”
