Canadian police in Hamilton, Ontario have arrested a teenager on suspicion of stealing $46 million ($36 million) in crypto through a SIM Swap attack on a U.S.-based victim.

Scammers have used SIM Swap attacks by tricking mobile operators into reissued SIM numbers. To be able to accept victims’ two-factor authorization requests, police said.
Hamilton Police said they were working on the case through an investigation with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the US Secret Service’s Electronic Crime Task Force.
