Camping holidays have grown in popularity among Germans during the pandemic. These are the most popular and best campsites.

Germany – the land of tents and campers, now more than ever. Camping holidays were extremely popular in the pandemic year of 2021. According to a Forsa survey, almost one in three holidaymakers (29 percent) between the ages of 18 and 44 wanted to travel with a tent, motorhome or caravan last summer. Overall, this was the wish of a good one in five Germans (19 percent).

And the rush is unlikely to decrease in 2022, as camping is most likely to be spared from Corona. The appointment of the most popular campsites comes at just the right time. The “Camping Site Award 2022” was again based on user ratings of the German-language online camping guide “camping.info” determined. The 110 most popular campsites in Europe are listed. There was a choice of more than 23,000 places from 44 European countries. Among the top placements are 67 in Germany and 22 in Austria. Also from Italy, Holland, Switzerland and Slovenia some places made it to the top ranks.

The winners’ podium from Germany and Europe

First place in the top 10 in Europe goes to Campingpark Kühlungsborn in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Camping Grubhof in Salzburg and Rosenfelder Strand Ostsee Camping in Schleswig-Holstein complete the podium.
