Campaign in schools against cannabis abuse – Bavaria

The Free State of Bavaria is investing 1.6 million euros in an information campaign on the abuse of cannabis products in schools. “We want to make people aware of the risk,” said Health Minister Klaus Holetschek (CSU) on Tuesday after a cabinet meeting in Munich. Bavaria is thus responding to the federal government’s intention to legalize the consumption of cannabis products such as marijuana to a certain extent.

Holetschek had repeatedly criticized the plans from Berlin in the past few weeks. There is no reasonable legal basis for legalizing cannabis. According to Holetschek, from 2022 to 2024, 1,500 school classes in the 8th and 9th grades will be informed about how to deal with cannabis in workshops, including by external experts.
