SPOUSAL VIOLENCE – “I didn’t even live anymore”. Camille Lellouche, actress and singer, told the show Seven to Eight to have been victim domestic violence for two years, when she was only 19 years old.
“I lived through hell for two years. All the forms of violence that a woman can suffer, I have suffered ”, confided the actress on TF1. Her drama begins after a month-long relationship with her then-boyfriend, after a disagreement. She leaves the room. “When I came back 15 minutes later I heard in the distance ‘where is this bitch?’. I have a shock and I think I say to him ‘am I the bitch?’. He said to me ‘where were you dirty bitch?’. (…) I don’t have time to react when he slaps me, very violent, ”she says.
She leaves him, apologizes to him, she comes back. “He had me like that, wearing out all the time,” says Camille Lellouche. Over the months, psychological and physical violence ”is repeated daily. “In fact, I didn’t even live anymore”.
Very moved, Camille Lellouche spoke at length about “the most humiliating moment of her life”, the day when “she thought she was dying”.
“One day, after a few months, I don’t want to have sex with him. He insults me, straightes me all over the place, nudges me on the back, and I started pissing on myself. (…) I tell him (…) and he says ‘I don’t care’. (…) I slept in my piss, on the floor, on the floor, on the floor. The most total humiliation. ”
Threatened with death if “she moves”, she still goes to the bathroom. “I’m really groping for it. I’m naked, ”she says. As he searches for her, she “puts her feet forward, so he can see I’m here.” “This is the most humiliating moment of my life. I just pissed on myself, I go to the bathroom in the simplest device and I am there, like a little girl ”.
“I have this duty” to speak
During this relationship, Camille Lellouche says she went “from 52kg to 40 in two months. “I have become a shadow.”
Like many victims, she remained silent about this violence. “No one knew except my best friend,” she explains. His mother, who notices it, ends up forcibly removing him, without addressing the subject explicitly: “She took a loan to send me to a school for a year in England to save me”.
“This is the first and last time I will talk about it. I do it because I am 35 years old, that I would like to be a mother one day and that I have to be free from all that. I don’t want at all that if I have a little girl one day or a little boy, she goes through this … I have this duty. ”
“Obviously you have to leave at the first attempt, obviously you have to file a complaint,” recalls Camille Lellouche, but she also underlines “the fear” which prevents the victims from speaking. “I want all women to be able to lodge a complaint, to have people around who force them to lodge a complaint. You will see, it is beautiful afterwards. ”
