Big shock for Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana: The Cameroonian was involved in a serious car accident in his home country.
Ajax Amsterdam goalkeeper Andre Onana was involved in a serious car accident in his native Cameroon on Tuesday morning. The keeper, who was on his way to the “Indomitable Lions” training camp, was unharmed.
On the route between the capital, Yaounde, and Douala, where the training camp is located, the Land Rover that Onana was in collided almost head-on with another jeep. Both vehicles were completely destroyed.
Onana fit for Cameroon’s surrender in World Cup qualifiers
Onana underwent thorough examinations at the training camp, and the all-clear was given a short time later: According to the Cameroon Football Association, Onana had done nothing and therefore immediately joined the rest of the team.
For Cameroon it’s about a World Cup ticket for the tournament in Qatar in the next few days in the qualifying play-offs against Algeria.
