California: Bitch returns to owner after 12 years – Panorama

The dog weather dominates the news – and a man in Russia, which some would probably also describe as a nasty dog. After all, Zoey provides good news. The dog from the US state of California had escaped from her owner when she went shopping. That was twelve years ago. The microchip company that registered Zoey assumed the dog was dead after 2015.

Now she was thrown from a vehicle in a rural area, as the BBC reports, just 100 kilometers from the town of Lafayette, where she disappeared in 2010. Someone found her, alerted the police and thanks to the chip, Zoey could now be returned to her owner. “I definitely didn’t expect that to ever happen,” she said, according to the report.

And maybe a few more dog reports will help through the dog weather: in Nordhorn, Lower Saxony, one warned its owner of a fire and thus ensured the timely evacuation of an apartment building, in Gosport, southern England, a passer-by’s dog saved the life of a man who had fallen into the water. Hollywood director Adam McKay described his dog as “perfect” on the Walk of Fame, the Queen has released a dog perfume and the Federal Minister of Agriculture, Cem Özdemir, has also come up with dogs and is calling for more puppy protection in the EU.

The German press agency reports from Naila in Upper Franconia: Dog bites dead German giant. Wow, he can even fight giants. Or is it possibly a rabbit species? He’s just a dog after all, the dog.
