Café Mala in Ebersberg: Jam session in the Klosterbauhof – Ebersberg

A journey through the music of the 20th century awaits the guests in Café Mala in the monastery building yard on Friday, January 13th. As part of the “Jam Sessions – Jazz at Mala” series, the 20th Century Rocks visiting, consisting of Christian Schantz (double bass & composition), Josef Reßle (piano) and Andreas Krieger (drums).

The three musicians take the audience on a musical journey through the history of jazz, rock and pop over the past century. Artists and bands as diverse as e.g Pink FloydDavid Bowie or radiohead. But original compositions by Christian Schantz and jazz standards from the “Great American Songbook” of the 1930s and 40s have also ended up in the repertoire.

There are no limits to the music. Emotional ballads, complex song structures and free improvisations are on an equal footing. In the foreground is the willingness of the musicians to always listen to each other in order to create a sound that lets the listener enjoy this musical journey.

The concert on Friday, January 13, starts at 8 p.m., from about 9 p.m. there is a jam session (open stage). Admission is free. In addition to applause, a donation is expected for the musicians.
