BVB wins in the Bundesliga: Haaland everywhere – sport

Marco Reus scored his 100th Bundesliga goal for Borussia Dortmund in front of 25,000 spectators on Saturday evening. In the club’s all-time best list, he still has Stephane Chapuisat (102), Lothar Emmerich (115), Michael Zorc (131) and Manfred Burgsmüller (135) ahead of him. But there could be another player: You have to assume that Erling Haaland could reach the top of this ranking sooner than Reus.

Haaland scored his Bundesliga goals number 41 and 42 for BVB on Saturday evening. The 21-year-old Norwegian only needed 44 games for these 42 goals. If he continues like this, he could catch up with Reus in the coming season and Burgsmüller in the season after next. However, there is a problem: If Haaland really continues like this, then he will not play in Dortmund for the season after that and maybe also for the next season.

BVB has scored eight goals in the previous two competitive games this season: three in the cup against third division side Wehen Wiesbaden and five on Saturday evening at the Bundesliga opener against Eintracht Frankfurt. Haaland was involved in all eight goals: he scored the three himself in the 3-0 win against Wehen Wiesbaden, and in the 5-2 (3-1) against Frankfurt he shot two and prepared three. In 61 competitive games for BVB, Haaland scored 62 goals and prepared 18.

On Tuesday it’s against FC Bayern. It’s just a Supercup – but a timely test.

While Frankfurt made a big false start after the 0-2 cup embarrassment at third division Waldhof Mannheim and the 2-5 swatter in Dortmund under its new coach Oliver Glasner, Dortmund goes into the Supercup game against Bayern Munich on with maximum self-confidence next Tuesday in their own stadium.

As a precaution, Reus did not want to know about championship ambitions shortly after the game at Sky. “We’re still a long way from where we want to be,” he said of the team’s performance in the previous game. This statement could, however, arouse considerable expectations in view of the clear result and many Dortmunders who had not yet been able to play.

Haaland, of course, outshines everything. As BVB captain, Reus said of the Norwegian: “You have to be careful not to praise him too much.” And added in astonishment: “It’s a package, you have to say that.”

Even the first hit from Frankfurt was shot by a Dortmund

From the injured and not yet fully trained BVB players, including Thomas Meunier, Mats Hummels, Raphael Guerreiro, Emre Can and Julian Brandt, you could almost have put together a whole team. That is why Nico Schulz played on the left in the back four. Therefore, the full-back Felix Passlack had to step in on the right. Therefore, the defensive midfielder Axel Witsel had to move into central defense to the side of Manuel Akanji.

Mahmoud Dahoud, Giovanni Reyna, Jude Bellingham and Marco Reus formed a kind of diamond in midfield, but a constantly shifting diamond, so that the Frankfurters became dizzy. There is hardly any other explanation for the fact that Dortmund was already 3-1 at the break. Reus after presentation by Haaland (23rd), Hazard after presentation by Haaland (32nd) and Haaland himself (34th) scored the three goals from Dortmund.

Even the first hit from Frankfurt was shot by a Dortmund. In the 27th minute, Passlack wanted to spit the ball off the foot of the new Frankfurt center striker Rafael Santos Borré, but accidentally shot it flat in the lower right corner, unsustainable for the new BVB goalkeeper Gregor Kobel, into his own goal.

Reyna on presentation of Haaland to 4: 1 (58th) and Haaland on presentation of Reus again himself to 5: 1 (70th) scored the other goals before Frankfurt’s newcomer Jens Petter Hauge (21, compatriot von Haaland) in the 86th minute with the first own Eintracht goal of this season at least shortened to 2: 5. “In our condition we didn’t have a chance here today,” said Frankfurt coach Glasner after the game. “We’ll have to work on our compactness in the next few weeks.”

The new BVB coach Marco Rose really enjoyed his first home game. The second will follow soon. “On Tuesday we can compete with the best team in Germany,” he says of the upcoming Supercup game against Bayern Munich. “We want to pick up where we left off today.” Promising announcement.
