Marco Reus scored his 100th Bundesliga goal for Borussia Dortmund in front of 25,000 spectators on Saturday evening. In the club’s all-time best list, he still has Stephane Chapuisat (102), Lothar Emmerich (115), Michael Zorc (131) and Manfred Burgsmüller (135) ahead of him. But there could be another player: You have to assume that Erling Haaland could reach the top of this ranking sooner than Reus.
Haaland scored his Bundesliga goals number 41 and 42 for BVB on Saturday evening. The 21-year-old Norwegian only needed 44 games for these 42 goals. If he continues like this, he could catch up with Reus in the coming season and Burgsmüller in the season after next. However, there is a problem: If Haaland really continues like this, then he will not play in Dortmund for the season after that and maybe also for the next season.
BVB has scored eight goals in the previous two competitive games this season: three in the cup against third division side Wehen Wiesbaden and five on Saturday evening at the Bundesliga opener against Eintracht Frankfurt.
