Edin Terzic spoke about the BVB staff before the Cologne game. The BVB coach explained that Gio Reyna will be out for 7-10 days. Gregor Kobel is not yet fit either. Marco Reus, on the other hand, could come back earlier.

BVB have to go to 1. FC Köln (3:30 p.m.) after the international break on Saturday. At the press conference before the game, coach Edin Terzic spoke about the staff at Black and Yellow. Marco Reus will of course still be missing from Borussia against Effzeh after tearing his ankle ligament, but he hoped for a quick return.

Reyna is out for 7-10 days with a strain

With Gio Reyna, Terzic also announced the absence of a potential captain’s representative. The 19-year-old had been ailing and replaced while playing for the USA. The US association then announced that it was only a precautionary measure.

The final diagnosis is a strain, says Terzic. “So he will be out for the next seven to ten days,” added the BVB coach.

Reus fit for the classic?

On the other hand, there was good news from Reus. According to Terzic, things are looking good again for the playmaker. “Fortunately, things are not as bad for Marco Reus as we initially feared. We hope that he can return to team training after the weekend. So that he will be rebuilt from next week and be available for the upcoming tasks.”

So far, the 33-year-old was expected to make a comeback in mid-October. According to Terzic’s statements, however, ideally Reus could play in the classic game against Bayern on matchday 9 (October 8th). The question, how to make up for the captain’s failure in the tightly scheduled October, would be almost obsolete. Terzic could count on Julian Brandt for the two upcoming games in Cologne and Seville. The coach also explained at the PK that he was thinking about a system change – without the classic ten.

Kobel must continue to pass

Alexander Meyer will be in goal again against Cologne. Gregor Kobel did not get fit in time after tearing his muscle fiber. “We have hope that it will be enough for next Wednesday [gegen Sevilla]. But it may also take a few days longer because there is also a back problem,” reported Terzic.

According to Terzic, the recently injured Brandt, Hazard and Moukoko are all operational. Donyell Malen and Karim Adeyemi are also fit. “Both make a really good impression. We’re just happy that both are healthy now,” said Terzic.
