BVB: “A shame!” Dortmund criticized for dealing with Jude Bellingham

Jude Bellingham injured his head during the BVB game in Mainz, but continued to play afterwards. The club has received a lot of criticism for this.
BVB has come under heavy criticism on social media for dealing with Jude Bellingham during the game against Mainz 05 (1:0) harvested. The trigger was the young Englishman’s head injury.
The background: In the 74th minute, Bellingham and his opponent Niklas Tauer rattled their heads in an aerial duel and both went down hard. Bellingham initially remained motionless before being brought into the dressing room under medical supervision.

I asked the doctor again if everything had been checked. We said that we would watch how he behaved for a minute or two,” explained Rose: “Of course we are responsible.”
In the social media there was then a lot of criticism of BVB’s handling of its youngster. “Can we PLEASE finally have independent doctors who decide whether a player can play again after a head injury? It’s also a shame that BVB didn’t come up with the idea of replacing Bellingham immediately,” wrote one user on Twitterwhile many more called BVB’s decision “irresponsible”.
Head injuries have been a big issue in football for a long time. In many places, the introduction of a “concussion protocol” is being called for, as is known from the NFL, for example.
